Dr. Eric Parlette

Eric C. Parlette, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Parlette has lectured both nationally and internationally educating other physicians on multiple topics to include laser and light therapy, dermatologic surgery, and general dermatology. Dr. Parlette is an active researcher in laser and light-based therapies and procedural dermatology. He has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals and texts and has won multiple awards for his writing.
Dr. Parlette was a magna cum laude graduate in 1994 from Virginia Tech where he was also a varsity athlete and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He graduated from University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1998 where he was on a U.S. Navy scholarship.
After medical school, Dr. Parlette completed a transitional internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD where he was named Intern of the Year. Following internship, Dr. Parlette spent two years attached to a U.S. Marine infantry battalion out of Camp Lejeune, NC as a general medical officer.
After serving with the Marines, Dr. Parlette began his dermatology residency at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego, CA where he trained with internationally renowned laser surgeon, Dr. E. Victor Ross. While a resident, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery awarded Dr. Parlette the Resident Research Award for excellence in Dermatology/Plastic Surgery.
Upon completion of residency, Dr. Parlette served as the sole dermatologist at U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa, Japan for two years. While in Okinawa, he was selected as the Navy Medical Officer of the Year. Dr. Parlette completed his Naval service at the Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, VA. There, he established the Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth laser surgery suite. During Dr. Parlette’s Navy career, he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal and two Navy Commendation Medals.
Following his military service, Dr. Parlette completed the highly sought after Mohs, procedural, and dermatologic surgery fellowship at Skin Care Physicians, Chestnut Hill, MA.
After fellowship, Dr. Parlette joined the local practice, Dermatology Associates in Winchester, MA. Missing the daily academic stimulation and camaraderie, he decided to return to the academic environment here at Boston University.
