Artefill

Artefill

Artefill is unique from temporary injectable wrinkle fillers because it lasts at least 5 years and may be permanent. The specialized microspheres in Artefill are not absorbed by the body and stimulates your skin to produce your own collagen. This building of your own collagen gives natural, long lasting results. Artefill can be used for skin folds, such as the nasolabial wrinkles (wrinkles that run from the outer part of your nose to the corner of your lip).

Artefill Skin Test

An allergy test must be done at least 30 days prior to receiving Artefill. Allergic reactions to the collagen in the Artefill are very rare. However, this test is needed to ensure that you do not get an allergic response.

Artefill Treatment

Artefill is mixed with lidocaine for patient comfort. If you are concerned with discomfort during the procedure ask the doctor about using a topical anesthetic prior to your treatment. A typical Artefill treatment only takes about 15-30 minutes. You will see the results immediately and be able to return to your normal daily activities.

Possible Side Effects

As with any injectable wrinkle filler, you can expect mild swelling and redness at the treatment site. These side effects are usually temporary. Occasionally, there is mild bruising that typically disappears in three to seven days. Less common side effects include persistent swelling or redness, and increased sensitivity at some or all injection sites. Two other rare potential side effects of all dermal fillers may be lumps and granulomas.
